Privacy policy

The short version

Maitri Yoga Studio is a small, independent business run by Kathryn Buttle. I take only the information needed to reply to you and to run classes. I don't sell data, I don't run targeted ads, I don't add you to marketing lists you didn't ask for. If you'd like your information removed at any time, email info@maitriyogastudio.co.uk and I'll handle it.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Maitri Yoga Studio is the "data controller" for any personal information you give us through this site.

What information I collect

Only what you give me directly, through one of these:

  • Contact form — your name, email and the message you write.
  • Retreat enquiry form — your name, email, optional phone number, your yoga experience level, and any additional notes you choose to share.
  • Direct email — whatever you put in the email.

Class bookings and payments are handled by Gymcatch on their own systems. When you book through them, their privacy policy applies — see gymcatch.com/privacy.

What I do with it

I use the details you submit only to:

  • Reply to your message.
  • Get in touch about retreats if you specifically asked to be on the list.
  • Keep a record of our conversation so I can help you properly next time.

I do not sell, rent, share or transfer your personal information to anyone for marketing purposes. Ever.

How long I keep it

Contact form messages: kept for as long as is useful to support our conversation, generally up to two years. Retreat enquiry details: until you ask to come off the list, or three years after the last retreat-related email — whichever is sooner.

Cookies & tracking

This website doesn't set any tracking cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts and a Google Map on the contact page — both of those services may set their own cookies under Google's privacy policy. The site itself doesn't run analytics, ad pixels, or any third-party tracking.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask:

  • What information I hold about you.
  • For a correction if anything's wrong.
  • For it to be deleted entirely.
  • For a copy of it in a readable format.

To exercise any of these, email info@maitriyogastudio.co.uk. I aim to respond within seven days.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Updates to this policy

If anything material changes, I'll update this page and refresh the "last updated" date at the top. For anything significant — like a change in how data is shared — anyone currently on the retreat list will get a direct email.
